Andrea Khanjin, Barrie-Innisfil’s incumbent Progressive Conservative MPP, has been voted in for a third term at Queen's Park.
With all of the votes tallied, Khanjin won by a sizable amount, garnering 53 per cent of the vote, according to unofficial results from Elections Ontario.
She won the election by 11,435 votes, and received 22,048 votes in total.
Khanjin arrived at her election after-party at Linx Kitchen + Social on King Street in south-end Barrie at 10 p.m.
She was greeted with cheers from around 50 supporters.
She shook hands and there were hugs all around.
“No campaign can be won by one person,” Khanjin told her supporters.
“I may be the name on the ballot, I may be the candidate for Barrie-Innisfil, but I represent an entire community and an incredible volunteer base that is here today … I couldn’t do it without you,” she added.
The Liberals' Dane Lee finished second with 10,613 votes, followed by the NDP's Andrew Harrigan in third place with 5,585.
“I’m really grateful for the results tonight, and that the residents of Barrie-Innisfil chose to elect me for another four years to represent them," Khanjin told BarrieToday. "I’m really humbled for the opportunity and I will do whatever it takes to be an incredible representative here, to ensure that I listen to residents for the local priorities."
Khanjin, who has served as environment minister in Doug Ford's cabinet, said she had a campaign goal of winning 51 per cent of the vote, which she achieved, and then some.
“We sent a loud and clear message to Ontarians today,” she told her supporters. “Everyone who voted sent a clear message that we are not going to be pushed over when it comes to Donald Trump. We are not for sale and we are not the 51st state. We will do whatever it takes to protect livelihoods here in this province."
Khanjin said Barrie and Innisfil are not immune, having a large manufacturing footprint, which is closely integrated with the United States.
“We got it done last time and we’ll continue to get it done, and continue to protect Ontario,” she said.
Elections Ontario data shows the Barrie-Innisfil riding had a voter turnout rate of 41.83 per cent of eligible voters in the 2025 provincial election.
In the 2022 election, there was a turnout of 36.91 per cent of eligible voters.
