There are more than 220 positions to be filled at Upper Canada Mall at a job fair this weekend, as retailers prepare for the holiday shopping season.
On Oct. 1 and 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 38 retailers and three Upper Canada Mall departments are participating in the fair. Candidates can drop off their resumes and have on-the-spot job interviews.
There are part-time, full-time, seasonal and long-term job opportunities available ahead of the holiday season, which is typically very busy for stores and the Newmarket mall.
“Our retailers are preparing for one of the busiest holiday periods in a long time. York Region has experienced population growth and we’re seeing people in the community looking to Upper Canada for the stores and brands they want, closer to home,” says Upper Canada Mall marketing manager Christine Seidman. “This kind of hiring event has proven to attract significant numbers of applicants at an important period and let's us support both our tenants and our customers."
