The clock is ticking for Barrie & District Christmas Cheer as the organization enters its final day of fundraising to meet its $450,000 goal.

With $321,146 raised so far, there is still over $128,000 needed to ensure every family in need receives the holiday support they deserve.

Distribution of holiday hampers has already begun and will continue from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Dec. 19 and 20, but with time running out, the organization is making an urgent plea to the community for help.

“This is our most critical moment,” said Sandra Yaquo, president of Barrie & District Christmas Cheer. “We’re racing to close the gap, and we need the community’s generosity now more than ever to ensure we can provide for the 1,950 families counting on us this year.”

Funds raised will go toward providing hampers filled with food essentials and gifts for families in Barrie, Innisfil, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, and Essa, many of whom are struggling with rising costs and financial hardship.
