The be contemporary gallery in Stroud is excited to open for its first in-person exhibit of the season, featuring artwork from Georgian College students.
Starting today, until June 26, the gallery will be featuring The Beetle and the Cat from by Abbi Meyers and Catherine Bechard.
The pair were the only graduates to attend in-person classes at Georgian College this year for the Fine Arts program.
The exhibit is an eclectic collection of pieces designed with different mediums, including embroidered portraits, drawings and paintings.
The gallery is also showcasing the work of Mar Merral's 'This is how I remember it (but it's not for you)'. The project was originally created as part of Merral's thesis for her BA at the University of Waterloo.
The piece includes a wall of 70 love letters engraved on its own 4x4 tile of colourful Plexiglass.
Each note is an ode to Merral's experience and celebration of coming out about her sexuality.
The gallery is open Wednesdays-Saturdays 1 - 4:30 p.m. Only three people will be allowed in at once with masks and distancing. A revervation is encouraged.
