Bingo! Kids pack hall for Innisfil Lions' inaugural event

A cacophony of laughter and squeals of delight echoed throughout the hall, as kids marked their cards and shouted out, 'Bingo

The Lions Club of Innisfil held its first Kids’ Bingo event for children 12 years old and under at the Lions Hall on Sunday.

A cacophony of laughter and squeals of delight echoed throughout the hall, as kids marked their cards and shouted out, “Bingo!” Prize tables were set up for the winners, but the kids had so much fun that everyone was a winner that day.

Innisfil Lion, and event coordinator, Jennifer Richardson said she was pleased with the turnout.

“I can’t believe how many kids are here. We’re over 60, which is what I kind of hoped for. I think we’re (at) 75 kids, (and) we’ve almost run out of space," she said.

Dry erase markers had to be replenished and more Bingo cards had to be printed to accommodate the response, as more than 80 children attended the event that ran from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The event was sponsored by Jenn Stergios of Forest Hill Real Estate and Children and Youth (CANDY) Entertainment in Simcoe County.

“CANDY is super excited to be able to contribute to such a fun event for our children and youth," said Reena Tagger-Saint Louis of CANDY Entertainment. "This is our mission and we cannot wait to bring fun events of our own in the very near future.”

Co-founder of CANDY Entertainment, Justyna Truskolaski, agreed. “We're excited that the Lions Hall is hosting their first Kids Bingo and that we're able to be a part of it. This will be one of many events that CANDY Entertainment will be a part of,” she said.

Admission was free with a donation to the Innisfil Food Bank, which gratefully received 305 pounds of food and $50 in cash raised at the event.

The second Kids’ Bingo event will be held on May 7, 2023, at the Lions Hall. Follow the Lions Club of Innisfil’s Facebook page for updates.
