NEWS RELEASE
YOUTH HAVEN
********************************
On Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, people from across the country will brave the cold and walk to support those experiencing homelessness and hunger in our communities.
In Barrie, Youth Haven proudly hosts the Coldest Night of the Year.
Participants will choose a two- or five-kilometre walk starting and ending at Barrie City Hall.
This is an exciting time for Youth Haven as a new 31-bed shelter in partnership with the Simcoe County Homebuilders’ Association is currently under construction on the site of our former shelter on Wellington Street East.
Funds from CNOY go toward operational expenses to support the services and programs offered to our youth including meals.
We invite our media partners to join us at the Barrie City Hall Rotunda on Feb. 22, 2025.
- 4 p.m. — Registration
- 4:45 p.m. — Opening ceremony
- 5 p.m. — The walk begins
- 6 p.m. — Light meal served
