A bottle drive fundraiser was held Saturday morning at Gilford Hall, raising over $2,000 for the historic building which was built in 1932.
The team behind this year's drive were Chair Lori McIntyre, Robert and Karen Pearson, Cathy and Ian Ruiter, Heather Westcroft and young handyman, Adrian.
“We are always looking for new members to support the Hall as well as rental income and fundraising opportunities," said McIntryre.
It was a sunny day with a large turnout of supporters. A steady line of cars two to three vehicles every half came by to drop off their empty bottles.
InnisfiilToday spoke to donor Brian Wright who lives in Gilford.
"I have used the Town Hall in the past and had previously donated before. This bottle drive is a good way of helping out the community maintain the hall," he said.
McIntyre wanted to personally thank Ward 7 Coun. Rob Nicol who headed up his own local group to gather bottles and donated well over $200 in returns, as well as other volunteers who helped out.
