NEWS RELEASE
ROTARY CLUB OF INNISFIL
*************************
The Rotary Club of Innisfil was out in force on Saturday across Innisfil to collect refundable beer, wine and liquor bottles/cans. The money raised from these returns go back to programs for the betterment of the Innisfil community. Part of the proceeds are being donated to the Legion and to the Innisfil Food Bank.

Newly inaugurated President Dean Bercier stated, “I want to thank the community for their great generosity and to all of my fellow Rotarians for all of their hard work. Also to the members of the Belle Ewart Legion, the Innisfil Community Church and Cookstown Home Hardware for the use of their properties. We have a lot of plans to help the community and we couldn’t do it without you.”

This particular bottle drive was only the first of three this summer. The second will be held on Aug. 7, with locations to be announced. So, start saving those empties! If you want to donate them before then, reach out to us at by email and one of our members will arrange a pick-up.

The Rotary Club of Innisfil has been helping the community since 2010 and currently has over 30 members. Past-President Barb Baguley remembers, “We started out with only a handful of people but now the club has grown and events like the Bottle Drive allow us to help our community.”

The group meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 am, currently in a virtual setting but are hoping to return to their normal in-person meetings this fall. Are you interested in learning more about Rotary? Feel free to reach out to any member of the group or e-mail us here. For more information on the Bottle Drive please email [email protected].
