Anyone looking for a fun night out filled with fashion, flowers and entertainment need look no further.
Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery are hosting their Fashion in Bloom event featuring a fall fashion show, seminars on fashion and design, hors d’oeuvres, drink samples and more than $1,000 in prizes — all on Aug. 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bradford location at 3817 County Road 4.
The fashion show is set to focus on fall fashion trends from exclusive Canadian brands and vendors carried at the greenhouse such as Papa Fashion, Joseph Ribkoff and Femme Fatale, said marketing and events coordinator Marissa Nazaruk.
“That gives patrons a chance to check out what’s going on, what are the trends, what are the styles, how are they styling it and then they actually get to shop those pieces as well because they will be in store,” she said.
Prizes are set to include six $100 gift cards to the greenhouse, a free photography session from Bedhead Boudoir, makeup and photography from Trish Beesley Photography, as well as giveaways from a plastic surgery company, door prizes, gift bags and flowers.
“A lot of it is about empowering women and making them feel beautiful,” Nazaruk said.
She’s hoping everyone will enjoy a fun vibrant evening with entertainment from local musician Madison Mueller as well as a DJ plus demonstrations for fall home decor and makeup.
“We want to keep everybody in high spirits and really just get them excited for fall and being in social atmosphere with their friends, girlfriends, partners, whomever and have a fun night out supporting the Bradford food bank,” she said.
That support comes from the 10 per cent of net retail sales that are set to be donated to Bradford’s Helping Hand Food Bank.
Nazaruk explained the greenhouse wanted to select a local charity and already has a relationship with the food bank, providing donations for the vegetable garden.
“We noticed that there’s a huge economic crisis. Not everyone is able to put food on the table and the food bank always needs help, because people are in need,” she said.
The event follows a similar one at the Barrie location in April, which Nazaruk said saw such a “great turnout” that they wanted to do it again, but in Bradford this time.
Only 250 tickets are available and “they are flying” already with only about 100 remaining as of Wednesday.
Tickets are $25 each or two for $45 and can be purchased on the greenhouse website.
