Help Nubridge Auto Centre 'Fill a Cube' for Innisfil children in need this Christmas (4 photos)

Nubridge Auto Centre hoping to fill a Nissan Cube with toys for Innisfil Food Bank

Nubridge Car Dealership and Automotive Centre in Innisfil is asking locals to help fill a Nissan Cube with toys for their annual toy drive collection for the Innisfil Food Bank.

Owner Alex Sallal is known for giving back to his community through several charitable acts and enjoys helping the Innisfil Food Bank with food donations and their toy drives at the shop.

“Every year the community sends us names of families in need,” explains Sallal. “We then do a random draw for three families to give them a [free] dinner."

The meals are purchased locally and donated by Sallal on behalf of Nubridge Auto Centre and supply families over the holidays with items like rice, potatoes, and a turkey.

“I like to keep everything local,” adds Sallal.

This year, Sallal and his staff have organized a 'Fill a Cube' toy drive, trying to fill an entire Nissan Cube vehicle with toys for the Innisfil Food Bank’s Toy Drive. So far, they have approximately 1/3 of the cube filled.

“Anyone who donates a toy or gift from now until Dec. 10 will receive $25 off Nubridge [services], valid for 2021,” shares Sallal.

The auto centre recently won a free lunch, courtesy of local radio station B101FM, for their hard work and dedication to the community.

“We love giving away Thanksgiving dinners, doing the food drive, toy drive, sponsoring families for Christmas dinners,” shares Sallal. “We just donated 140 pounds of carrots and 140 pounds of onions to the Innisfil Food Bank."

Sallal and his staff at Nubridge continually go above and beyond when it comes to helping out members of the community. For example, the shop recently replaced an elderly couple’s tires which were slashed, free of charge.

“I like to personally help people all the time,” expresses Sallal. “It’s a small community so when you hear someone’s having a hard time, we want to help."

Sallal has shared on Nubridge’s Facebook page that he is more than willing to help anyone not working that has run out of food or necessities. He encourages those in need to send him a private message, and not to feel embarrassed or afraid.

“I grew up with the notion, when God gives, give back," states Sallal.

Nubridge Auto Centre is family-owned since 1996 and was originally started in Toronto by Sallal and his father Ramsey (now retired). The centre relocated to Innisfil in 2002 at 6938 Yonge St. and offers fully reconditioned, pre-owned vehicles, as well as repairs, oil and tire changes.
