Hundreds hop to Friday Harbour to enjoy Easter Sunday

Friday Harbour is the place to be on Easter Sunday.

With an Easter Egg Hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, in addition to face painters and balloon artists on the promenade, more than 500 people are expected to hop to Friday Harbour today.

The afternoon will conclude with children's activities such as Build an Easter Buddy and Easter Tie-Dye Shirts. Members of staff wore bunny ears and smiles as guests and residents arrived.

Kids posed with the Easter Bunny on a chilly, but sunny Sunday morning, as other children and their families waited patiently in line for face painting.

The pièce de résistance for children was, naturally, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt that began at 11 am. The free event was for children up to 12 years old, who collected hidden coloured eggs along the Promenade to be traded in for sweet goodie bags.

The Easter-themed festivities began on Saturday when about 100 people participated in Easter Egg Basket Weaving, Easter Egg Decorating, and the 6th Annual Easter Egg Drop, followed by a campfire with Peeps S’mores.

For those looking for a sweet treat beyond Easter Sunday, the Lake Club Restaurant at Friday Harbour will continue to offer an Easter Brunch  and an Easter Dinner on Monday. Check out the Lake Club Restaurant’s menu here.
