The young men from the Innisfil Spartans Junior Hockey Club were at the Innisfil Farmers' Market on Thursday, hoping to 'Fill The Net' with donated pairs of socks for local youth in need.
Every year the Innisfil Christmas for Kids campaign falls short of basic necessities such as socks, especially for teens.
"Toiletries like Axe deodorant or Secret anti-persperant are other items that we [C4 Kids] are short on," said Myrlene Boken of Chrismas For Kids.
Despite the soggy weather conditions, the team was able to collect over six large paper bags full of socks which will be donated to Innisfil's Christmas For Kids charity and distributed to youth in need in the community.
The Innisfil Spartans Junior Hockey Club kicks off their inaugural season starting in September with their Home Opener on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. All home games are played at the Innisfil Recreation Complex Red Rink.
