INNISFIL IDEALAB & LIBRARY
*************************
This February, there is no shortage of fun and exciting events happening at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library.

The community is invited to drop in, warm up, and see just why the library is a great community meeting place.

From musical performances, to preparing for spring — there’s something for everyone.

Love Your Library

We all love our libraries, but we want to know why. This February, join in the conversation. Whether it’s a favourite program, book, or staff member, we want to hear about why you love your library. You will find paper hearts available at each branch where you can share how the library makes your world a better place. (Wednesday, Feb. 1 to Saturday, Feb. 18. All branches.)

February Blues Festival

As part of Innisfil’s Winter Weekends, the 24th annual February Blues Festival brings one of the finest musicians in Toronto to Innisfil. Join us at the Lakeshore branch where we will be showcasing Danny McErlain with a Jazzical concert performance. With a mix of jazz and classical, Danny will be accompanied by Peter Telford on acoustic bass, and Kevin Dempsey on drums. (Saturday, Feb. 4, 12:30 to 4 p.m., Lakeshore branch.)

Innisfil Seed Library: Seed-packing party

Are you dreaming of spring planting and gardening? The Innisfil Seed Library is gearing up for its eighth season and they would like you to join them to help pack and label seed envelopes for distribution. Adults and teens are welcomed to this drop-in seed-packing party. No experience is necessary for this fun and informative gathering. (Saturday, Feb. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lakeshore branch.)

Gyotaku fish printing with Tamara Benoit

Join us for a morning of art fun with Tamara Benoit and explore the historical and cultural qualities of Gyotaku (gyo = fish, taku = rubbing), the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. As part of Innisfil’s Winter Weekends, drop by the ice huts at Innisfil Beach Park for this unique experience. All ages (and fishes) welcome. (Saturday, Feb. 25, drop in between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Innisfil Beach Park.)
