Let your imagination run wild at Innisfil library's Spark gala

Inaugural fundraising event to be held at Lakeshore branch on Feb. 29

It’s nearly time to find your spark.

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will host the inaugural Spark: A Celebration of Creativity and Imagination fundraising gala on Thursday, Feb. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Lakeshore branch in Alcona (967 Innisfil Beach Rd.).

According to the library, participants will “indulge in an evening filled with food, drinks, unique entertainment, and unforgettable experiences.”

The keynote speaker is Elamin Abdelmahmoud, acclaimed author of Son of Elsewhere and the host of CBC Radio’s Commotion.

There will also be music by Jazz-Mandhu, and local artists Jeanette Luchese and Maria Kelebeev will paint live during the event (you’ll be able to bid on and possibly take home their pieces).

The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased on the gala’s Eventbrite page.
