The third annual Holiday Market — an event to celebrate local artists and community spirit, in honour of the late Marlene Wren — will take place Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakeside Dance Studio.
Each visitor to the market can enter a raffle with the chance to win items generously donated by the vendors. The grand prize is a private dance lesson, offering the lucky winner the opportunity to explore the world of social dancing in a personalized setting, a news release said.
Lakeside teaches adults Latin and ballroom dance. They have been offering dance lessons for over 11 years in Simcoe County.
"In 2020, we opened our doors to our new studio with dreams of sharing our passion for dance with others in Innisfil," studio owner Ashley Spadafora said. "It has been a tough and rewarding journey, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of the community. Our third annual Holiday Market is about supporting small businesses, celebrating the holiday spirit, and honouring my mother who passed away in March 2020."
Wren, a beloved mother and crafter, was known for her warm heart and dedication to bringing people together during the holidays, Spadafora said.
Spadafora and her husband Adam (owners of Lakeside Dance) organized this event, which they say has become a testament to the power of community and love for arts.
Lakeside Dance is at 2723 Ireton St. Admission to the market is free.
