For those who love fall most of all, the Town of Innisfil will be presenting its first-ever InnisFALL at the Town Square, located at 971 Innisfil Beach Rd., on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The complimentary, all-ages, family-friendly event will welcome community members to enjoy live music provided by Brian Harwood and the Rob Watts Band.
Kids are invited to see farm animals — provided by Hooves & Feathers — ride a trackless train, capture memories at a fall photo station, and express their creativity at a colouring wall that will be onsite. Artists will provide free caricatures and face painting, which will complement fall-themed crafts, activities and lawn games.
“We are so excited to host the inaugural InnisFALL event on Oct. 5 at Town Square,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “The event will feature many family-oriented activities and promises to be a great way for our community to come together to celebrate the fall season.”
Strolling entertainment — such as a scarecrow and a pumpkin princess — will delight children of all ages. Art by local artists will be showcased, and vendors will be on site selling sweet treats and artisanal products. The first 50 people to arrive will be given free mini pumpkins to celebrate the season.
“InnisFALL will have music, vendors and activities for families and friends to enjoy. Activities will be available free of charge to event participants. We are bringing together the community to celebrate the fall season. Come and join the fun of the fall season,” said Daniella Severino, the town’s arts, culture and event specialist.
A coffee bar will keep thirst at bay, and a food truck called A Touch of Love Kitchen by Party Time will sell hearty, seasonal classics, such as double-baked potatoes, chili and soup.
South Simcoe Theatre, alongside the Innisfil Arts, Culture and Heritage Council (IACHC) and other community groups, will also be in attendance.
“As the Innisfil Arts, Culture, and Heritage Council, we are committed to building a vibrant, inclusive community by promoting and preserving our town’s rich artistic, cultural and historical heritage,” said Sara Werkee of the IACHC. “We are proud to spotlight the incredible work of local artists Maria Kelebeev, Corrie Gancman and Jamie Hardie, who will be showcasing some of their art pieces as well as demonstrating their skills at InnisFALL.
"These talented individuals, each bringing their unique vision and creativity, represent the diverse and thriving artistic spirit within Innisfil," Werkee added. “We believe that art has the power to bring people together, and this fall’s event is an opportunity for residents to connect with our local artists, share in their creativity, and celebrate the cultural heritage that shapes our community."
Moving forward, InnisFALL is expected to became an annual event offered by the town.
“The creation of this event is in direct response to a recent survey asking residents what kind of activities they would like to have in the town and this one is shaping up to be spectacular. I look forward to seeing everyone there,” Dollin said.
