NEWS RELEASE
SEASONS CENTRE FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN

To mark Children’s Grief Awareness Day, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children is launching its 4X Impact Matching Campaign, a powerful opportunity to bring hope to grieving children during the holiday season.
Thanks to the generosity of the Schick family and anonymous donors, every dollar donated will be matched three times — up to $25,000 — creating four times the impact for children and families navigating grief.
Across Canada, thousands of children are grieving the loss of loved ones.
In Simcoe County alone, an estimated 10,000 children are missing access to critical grief support.
Seasons Centre provides free programs to help families heal, but increasing demand highlights the urgent need for additional resources.
“This matching campaign is a game-changer,” said Lisa Spinks, development director at Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. “With every $1 turning into $4, we have an incredible opportunity to raise $100,000 to ensure grieving children receive the compassionate support they need during the holidays and beyond.”
The 4X Impact Matching Campaign officially launched during a special event at Seasons Centre, 38 McDonald St., in Barrie, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. The event brought together program participants, donors and supporters to share inspiring stories and celebrate the impact of their collective generosity.
Donations to the campaign can be made online here or by phone 705-721-KIDS. With the holiday season approaching, now is the time to ensure grieving children in our community receive the support they need so they don’t have to feel alone.
