In a heartfelt ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 18, Barrie-Innisfil member of Parliament John Brassard proudly presented King Charles III Coronation Medals to a group of exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities.
The prestigious medal, created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on May 6, 2023, recognizes 30,000 outstanding Canadians from all walks of life who have demonstrated exemplary service, volunteerism and leadership.
“Today, we honour the dedication, service and selflessness of individuals who have made a lasting impact on Barrie-Innisfil and on Canada,” said MP Brassard. “The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a tribute to those who embody the values of leadership, compassion and commitment to others. Their contributions strengthen the very fabric of our society, and it is with deep gratitude that I recognize their efforts.”
During the event, medal recipients and their guests were reminded of the significance of their achievements.
“Every one of today’s recipients has gone above and beyond,” Brassard said. “Whether through public service, volunteerism, or leadership, they have demonstrated the very best of what it means to be Canadian. They have given their time, their energy, and their talents to making our communities stronger, safer and better for future generations. And that is something worth honouring.”
Honourees were nominated by community members and selected based on their unwavering commitment, spirit of service and excellence.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal ceremony was a moment of pride and reflection, celebrating those who have dedicated themselves to making Canada a better place for all.
“As we mark the reign of His Majesty King Charles III, this medal also serves as a reminder of Canada’s enduring traditions and our shared responsibility to uphold them,” stated MP Brassard, “because a nation is not just built by its leaders — it is built by its people, by individuals who step up, who make a difference, and who inspire others to do the same.”
