Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 15 to 60 cm by Monday evening.
Peak snowfall rates possibly exceeding 5 cm per hour.

Timing:
Tonight through at least Monday.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow squalls will continue through at least Monday morning, and likely into Tuesday for the Bruce Peninsula as strong westerly winds bring much cooler air to the region.

Snow squalls have shifted south of Muskoka and southern Haliburton region but will shift northward into the area again this evening.

For areas further south near Barrie, snow squalls are expected to move northward out of the area tonight.

Gusty westerly winds to 70 km/h will result in areas of near zero visibility in blowing snow.

Some road closures have been reported, and additional closures are possible.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
