Little ghosts and goblins may be swarming your favourite Innisfil business in a few days.
Johnny Burger and Miss Jennie's Performing Arts Studio will once again team up to host the annual Spooktactular trick-or-treating event Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. About 60 businesses and organizations — ranging from Bruno's Bakery and Cafe, Freshii and Sunset Grill to Alcona Family Dentistry, Suzette's Beauty Lounge and the Innisfil ideaLAB and Library's Lakeshore branch — will participate, handing out free candy to hundreds of local children.
While many of the participating sites are located just off Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona, merchants in Big Bay Point, Churchill, Cookstown, Gilford, Lefroy, Innisfil Heights, Sandy Cove, Stroud or anywhere else in town are invited to join in.
"It's safe candy from local businesses," Johnny Burger's Monique Siozou said. "We're uniting the businesses for a great community event. It's great to see the excitement and the costumes."
She can still recall her favourite outfit from last year — when a trio of kids strolled the sidewalk dressed as the Three Blind Mice.
It's incredible to see how fast this event has grown, Miss Jennie's spokesperson Kate Badger said.
"Last year it was 20 (businesses)," she said, noting some locations also run colouring contests, character meet-and-greets and other unique elements during the event. "We didn't want to see it leave. I like seeing the businesses get excited more and more every year."
Festive decor is being donated to some businesses by IBR Table Greens, Siozou said.
