Town of Innisfil economic development staff will be on hand at the Emerging Entrepreneurs event to help early-stage entrepreneurs understand various facets of starting a business.

The Town of Innisfil’s economic development team is hosting an Emerging Entrepreneurs event on Oct. 7, 2024. This event will provide emerging entrepreneurs with practical tools for growth to help them scale up their side hustle and turn their business ideas into reality.

“Business creation is a vital part of Innisfil’s economy and will play an important role in achieving our future job targets,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “The Emerging Entrepreneurs event will stimulate the development of new businesses in the region by providing the supports and knowledge for promising local entrepreneurs.”

Designed for early-stage entrepreneurs, this event will feature the opportunity to learn about business foundations such as finance, insurance, registration of a business name, accessing grants and loans, and content creation. The event lineup features industry experts, including:

  • Nicholas Rezzara, Founder and Wealth Creation Coach, Co-Found Wealth
  • Martin Kuzma, CEO, Nottawasaga Futures
  • Ryan Burwell, Manager of Programs and Events, Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre, Georgian College
  • Morteza Gharaee, DMZ Innisfil Coordinator, Town of Innisfil
  • Anne Smith, Library Board Chair, Innisfil ideaLAB & Library

“There is a wealth of talent and ingenuity in our community and so many entrepreneurs are looking for the right opportunity to get their business idea off the ground,” says Laura Thompson, Manager of Economic Development at the Town of Innisfil. “Emerging Entrepreneurs is geared to those who are ready to take the next step in this journey.”

The Emerging Entrepreneurs event will be held at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road) from 4 to 8 p.m. Event partners include Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre, Georgian College, Nottawasaga Futures, and the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library. This project is funded in part by the Ontario government through the Rural Economic Development Program.
