The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has placed 9th Line Park Beach (2407 Leonard St.) under a new swim advisory.

The following beaches remain under a swim advisory:
    •    Beach 1 at Innisfil Beach Park South (676 Innisfil Beach Rd.)
    •    Beaches 2, 3, 4 and 5 at Innisfil Beach Park North (676 Innisfil Beach Rd.)

The swim advisory at 10th Line / Leonard’s Beach (2715 Purvis Street) has been lifted following resampling by SMDHU.

An advisory is a warning to swimmers, but it is not a beach closure. During a swim advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs that the most recent water samples showed bacteria in numbers that may increase your risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness. If you choose to swim during a swim advisory, it is best to avoid dunking your head underwater or swallowing the water.

Testing is done at least weekly by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and the results are posted on their website: smdhu.org/beaches.
