Thousands of people line Santa Claus parade route in Innisfil

More than 50 floats participated in this year's Innisfil Santa Claus parade Nov. 26

Santa's back and he brought a few friends.

More than 50 floats participated in this year's Innisfil Santa Claus parade, which made its way up Innisfil Beach Road Nov. 26. Much of the route between Innisfil Beach Park and Jans Boulevard was packed with onlookers — children of all ages who wanted to catch their first glimpse of Kris Kringle this holiday season. Local businesses, dignitaries and groups ranging from the Innisfil Pipes and Drums to scout troops joined in the celebration.

Organized by Innisfil Community Events (ICE) Corporation, this year’s theme was Christmas Around the World.

Aside from bringing joy to the thousands of people in attendance, the parade also serves a charitable purpose by gathering non-perishable food items for the Innisfil Food Bank, while Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services staff collected new, unwrapped toys as they walked by.
