NEWS RELEASE
INNISFIL IDEALAB

The Troy Scott Community Fridge (TSCF) at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch has made an exciting move outdoors! The TSCF can now be accessed outside the Lakeshore Branch on the west side near Town Square to facilitate 24/7 access to nutritious food for Innisfil residents.
The TSCFs are a neighbours-helping-neighbours initiative that relies on donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Community members can drop off or take food from the fridges and pantries in any quantity, at any time. There are three locations throughout town:
- Outside the Innisfil Recreational Complex (7315 Yonge Street)
- Outside the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Cookstown Branch (20 Church Street)
- Outside the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road)
Through every donation, the TSCFs show how collaborative efforts can support community food security. The new "Fill the Fridges" Donation Drive Guide is an available resource to help individuals and groups organize successful food and fundraising drives. The guide offers practical tips, planning tools, and downloadable promotional materials to empower community members to amplify their impact and support the fridges.
For those who are able, there are many other ways to contribute:
- Donate food: Bring non-perishable goods, produce, and prepackaged breads and pastries directly to the TSCFs. Opt for items that can resist the cold temperatures during the colder season.
- Donate online: Make a financial donation online and groceries will be purchased on your behalf.
- Join a Neighbours Helping Neighbours program: Prepare meals for the TSCFs in free monthly cooking programs at the Horodynsky Community Kitchen.
