The northern lights could be seen above Barrie last night, as locals flocked to open areas outside of the city trying to avoid light pollution.
Reporter Kevin Lamb captured a time-lapse video of the light dancing above Kempenfelt Bay just east of Barrie in Big Bay Point in Innisfil.
The 45-second, time-lapse video clip covers just over seven minutes of recording the atmospheric phenomenon.
Back in May of this year, Lamb captured stunning real-time video footage of the interwoven shades of green and purple curtains and spirals of light as they flashed in and out of existence as particles, mainly protons and electrons, ionized through our upper atmosphere as the solar wind washed around our planet after being ejected by a coronal mass ejection on the surface of the sun.
This year's geomagnetic storms have not been as intense as this since October 2003.
