NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF INNISFIL
************************
The Town of Innisfil encourages residents to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of your municipal government during Local Government Week (LGW), Oct. 21 to 25.

LGW celebrates the role of municipalities in providing millions of Ontarians with important public services. During this year’s LGW, we seek to educate students and the wider community on the role of municipal governments, how to get involved, and our shared potential to create positive, lasting change.

Community members, especially young people, are invited to attend the final Local Government Session of the year on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch. This session aims to empower today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders. Refreshments will be available and community service hours will be granted to attending students in Grades 9 through 12. Learn more and register at getinvolvedinnisfil.ca/YourLocalGov.

Additionally, visitors to Innisfil Town Hall during LGW are encouraged to stop by the Electoral Engagement Advisory Committee’s information booth, take a Town Hall selfie, and explore Council Chambers. Town Hall (2101 Innisfil Beach Rd.) is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
