May 22, 1954- Aug. 6, 2024
Scott Martin Leslie passed away peacefully in Orillia on Aug. 6, 2024, at the age of 70.
Scott was born in Taplow, England and is predeceased by his parents, Joan Shirley Martin and Stuart McKenzie Leslie. Beloved husband of Betty Louise Cragg for 41 years. The joys of Scott’s life were his three sons, Jared (Meg), Nick (Maiah), and Kent (Bianca). Scott’s favourite little people were his grandkids, Jack and Ella, whom he adored.
Scott ran an accounting business while pursuing interests in many start-up industries. Scott could be found coaching hockey around the GTA, reading the Economist in his recliner and squeezing through awkward caving spots in Costa Rica.
Scott kept himself well-informed on all things market and politics and had strong opinions. Scott was rarely wrong, in his opinion, and insisted that he would never see the Leafs win the cup again!
Scott read and travelled widely, yet was always most comfortable spending time with close family and friends at home.
Scott has now upgraded to the ultimate recliner in the sky: a place where the Leafs always win, golf balls don’t end up in ponds and the pool skims itself.
Scott will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends, Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held. Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be made through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East, Orillia (705) 327 0221.
