It is with great sadness, we announce that Nate passed away suddenly on August 29, 2024 at the age of 44. Devoted husband of Alison and loving father of Layla, Vada (predeceased) and stepson Brandon. Proud grandfather to Isla. He is survived by his mother Lynne, his stepfather Steve, his sister Nikki and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his parents in law Barry and Donna Marie Jacks, his sisters and brothers in law Andrea, Mary-Beth (Ermes), Chris (Julie) and David and extended family.
Nate loved his nieces and nephews Samantha, Vincent, Nolan, Cole and Abigail. Family was very important to Nate, he loved to spoil the children in his life with thoughtful gifts – and cash.
Father, daughter and soul mates, Nate and Layla shared so many adventures together. Layla has many wonderful childhood memories with her Dad - pizza and movie nights, thrift shopping, dance parties, people watching, trips to Grandma’s on the weekends and trips up north every summer. Layla was Nate’s whole world. He was so proud of Layla and cherished every accomplishment and milestone. One of his fondest memories was Layla’s basketball team winning the school Championship. He was so happy for her.
Nate will be best remembered for his love of cooking, fishing, dancing and Kijiji. He loved good food. Nate was an excellent chef, and he loved most to cook for his family and friends. Nate also loved fishing. His favourite sport was ice fishing, but he also loved pike fishing on Georgian Bay every summer. And he loved a social gathering with his friends and family. Nate was a kind wise person, a quiet observer, who listened to the people he cared about, always looking for meaningful ways to help and support them. If you needed anything, Nate could find it for you on Kijiji for a deal.
Nate met Alison in 2016, and they have been together since the day they met. With Layla, they built a life together in Innisfil full of love and happiness. Married in 2019 surrounded by family and friends, Nate and Alison became each other’s person. They both believed that fate and love brought them together and their love for each other was so strong. Recently Nate’s joy has been his granddaughter Isla who shares his love for music and dancing. With endless patience, Nate would spend hours teaching Isla new dance moves, playing with her and cooking for her. Nate will also be missed by his little friend Coco.
Cremation will take place. There will be a Celebration of Life on October 12, 2024, from 2pm to 5pm at the Innisfil Lions Hall, 982 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil. If you wish to make a charitable donation in Nate’s honour, please give to CMHA Simcoe County: https://cmhastarttalking.ca/your-support-will-make-the-difference/
