Alliston men charged after meth, cocaine found during traffic stop

Police seized methamphetamine and cocaine during a traffic stop Thursday in New Tecumseth.

An obstructed licence plate caught the eye of officers in New Tecumseth on Thursday and led to drug charges being laid against two people.

At about 10 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers pulled over a vehicle with an obstructed rear plate on Young Street and found methamphetamine and cocaine, police said in a news release.

A 40-year-old Alliston man has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine), possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and three counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

A 41-year-old Alliston man has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) and possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine).

Both were held for a bail hearing Thursday in Bradford and they have since been released from custody.
