A driver who fled into a residence following an attempted traffic stop Wednesday in New Tecumseth is facing numerous charges.
Shortly after 5 p.m., police attempted to pull over a driver who didn’t stop at a stop sign in the area of Arnold Crescent. The driver then fled on foot into a residence in the area. Police knocked on the door and confirmed the driver was under suspension, Nottawasaga OPP said in a news release.
A 25-year-old Alliston resident has been was charged with the following:
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Unlawfully being in a dwelling house
- Driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Failing to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle
- Failing to surrender an insurance card
- Driving while under suspension
- Disobeying a stop sign — fail to stop
The vehicle will be impounded for seven days, and the accused has a Feb. 2 court date in Bradford.
