Update: There is a heavy police presence at the north-end Barrie high school this morning. BarrieToday is working to confirm more details. A reporter at the scene says there are at least 10 police vehicles and four ambulances at the Grove Street East school.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday that officers responded to the school twice this morning, the second time being for a reported shooting. Leon said that report was false and one person was being questioned.
At 11:30 a.m., the school board said the lockdown had been lifted and that students and staff were safe. Further information will be sent directly to families, the board indicated in a tweet.
