OPP investigate after a man was found without vital signs at Bayfield Street and Highway 400 in Barrie on Friday, June 28.

Provincial police say foul play is not suspected following the "sudden death" of an Elliot Lake man late last week near Highway 400 in Barrie. 

Around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, OPP officers were called to the scene, near the Highway 400 southbound off-ramp to Bayfield Street, after the man had been found without vital signs in a "grassy area," according to police. 

The 41-year-old Elliot Lake man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there were no signs of foul play and the death is not considered suspicious. 

The ramp from Bayfield Street, westbound to Highway 400’s southbound lanes, was closed Friday night for the police investigation.

There are homeless encampments in the area, but police did not release any additional details.
