Man, 79, killed after being struck by dump truck in East Gwillimbury

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a dump truck in East Gwillimbury this morning.

A 79-year-old man had life-threatening injuries after being hit by truck at the intersection of Davis Drive and Warden Avenue, according to a York Regional Police news release. The man was pronounced dead after transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the truck remained on the scene.

Investigators would like to speak to witnesses who have not yet spoken with police and to anyone who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the area around the time of the collision. Video can be uploaded online.
