A North Bay man was arrested early Monday morning after he broke into police headquarters and assaulted a police officer.
On June 17 at around 1 a.m. a man arrived at North Bay Police Service headquarters on Princess Street West and began forcibly kicking the locked front doors.
The sliding doors broke from their casing and the intruder pushed through and entered police headquarters.
Three officers grabbed him before he could enter the front lobby, through a second set of doors. The man attacked one of the officers, before being tasered, subdued, and taken to the cell block area, where he was held, pending a bail hearing.
Danny Stead, 35, of North Bay is charged with breaking and entering and committing an assault.
