Man charged following break-ins, thefts in Innisfil, Barrie

Innisfil man accused of breaking into businesses, stealing a vehicle

A man has been charged in relation to a series of break-ins and thefts in Innisfil and Barrie.

Commercial businesses were broken into, and a vehicle was stolen from a business in Innisfil, South Simcoe police said in a news release.

On Feb. 7, a search warrant was executed at an address on 20th Sideroad in Innisfil, and a 53-year-old Innisfil man was arrested. He is facing the following charges:

  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence (two counts)
  • Possession of break-in instruments (two counts)
  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Disguise with intent
  • Theft under $5,000 (two counts)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (three counts)
  • Operation of a conveyance while prohibited (four counts)

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

His name has not been released.
