A Beeton man faces new charges in connection to a historical sexual assault investigation by Ontario Provincial Police's major crime unit.

In September 2024, an investigation began into John Wilkinson and, after a news release was issued, police say more alleged victims have come forward.

Police say one potential victim disclosed two separate assaults dating back to 2015 and 2019, prompting Wilkinson's arrest. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

Police also say a second alleged victim reported an assault that took place in 2017, leading to a sexual assault charge against Wilkinson.

He has since been arrested and was held for a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
