South Simcoe officers looking into a radio call received Friday night; extended police presence reported at property on Algonquin Avenue

There are few details being released at this time, but South Simcoe police have had an extended presence on Algonquin Avenue in Innisfil since Friday night.

The department has confirmed it is investigating a radio call received Nov. 8.

Algonquin is located on Big Bay Point, near the northeastern tip of the municipality.

“It is an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety,” police spokesperson Samah Othman told InnisfilToday. “The investigation is currently ongoing. We will release more details when available.”

Photos from the scene show an address cordoned off with police tape Friday, and a forensics identification unit vehicle parked there Saturday morning.

InnisfilToday will have more information on this developing story as it is released.
