A Barrie man faces multiple weapons charges after police descended upon a south-end home yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, officers responded to the area of Yonge Street and Little Avenue after receiving a report of a weapon that was seen during a dispute in a residence, according to police.

At least half a dozen police cruisers — along with members of the tactical unit and regular officers — were observed at the scene, with police questioning people and searching through a vehicle in the driveway of the home.

At approximately 3 p.m. on the same day, a 27-year-old man was arrested without incident, and is facing numerous weapons-related charges, according to police.

The man is being held in custody for a bail hearing on July 10.
