Barrie police believe three teens are responsible after an "inappropriate image and some racial remarks" were spray-painted on a local school late Tuesday night.

At 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, police were advised of an overnight mischief incident that occurred at an elementary school on Cundles Road East.

From the investigation that followed and assisted by surveillance video, police say three teenagers, who appear to be male, went to the rear of the school at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday and spray-painted two rear doors.

Police say they are unable to release any video due to provisions within the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but are asking anyone who may have information to email the investigating officer at [email protected].

"Senseless acts of vandalism such as this are unacceptable and require immediate attention, that can be costly, by staff associated with the school. If anyone can help police with this investigation, the assistance will be greatly appreciated," police stated in a news release.
