Three people have been charged following a search warrant in Alliston, which led to the seizure of weapons, around two ounces of cocaine and pickup truck yesterday.
The police investigation, which included members of the Nottawasaga OPP community street crime unit (CSCU), emergency response team (ERT) and assistance from the crime reduction unit (CRU), culminated with the execution of a search warrant on Knight Street.
"In the fall of 2024, Nottawasaga CSCU began an investigation regarding a male [allegedly] trafficking drug in downtown Alliston. Officers observed activity consistent with drug trafficking and obtained a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant," OPP stated in a news release.
On Dec. 10, the OPP alleges officers observed one of the accused conduct a drug transaction in Tottenham and, with the assistance of ERT officers, police arrested the male suspect while he was parked on the side of the road.
Nottawasaga CSCU officers then attended the Alliston residence and executed a CDSA search warrant shortly before 1 p.m.
A search of the residence, along with three vehicles, was completed where police say officers confiscated approximately two ounces of cocaine, four imitation handguns, one imitation rifle, one prohibited knife, 12 knives, five sword/axe/cleavers, two cellphones, scales, brass knuckles, a body armour carrier and two sets of headphones, allegedly stolen. They also seized a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with a value of $30,000, as "offence-related property."
Eric Hogg, 36, of Adjala-Tosorontio, has been charged with trafficking a Schedule I substance (cocaine), possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose (four counts), possession of a prohibited device, and breach of recognizance.
Trevor Wilson, 38, of Alliston, has been charged with trafficking a Schedule I substance (cocaine), possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose (four counts), possession of a prohibited device, breach of recognizance, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts).
Kelsey Kirk, 35, of Alliston, has been charged with trafficking a Schedule I substance (cocaine), possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose (four counts), possession of a prohibited device, and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts).
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
The OPP says Hogg and Wilson were held for a bail hearing, scheduled for Dec. 12.
Kirk was released from custody on an undertaking with a Jan. 9 court date.
