Two vehicles sustained significant damage in a collision in Innisfil July 2.

Two people sustained minor injuries in a serious-looking crash on Yonge Street Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency personnel responded to the two-vehicle collision, which occurred at the Yonge and 7th Line intersection July 2. South Simcoe police say the first vehicle was travelling southbound on Yonge when it attempted to turn east onto the 7th. The driver was “waved on” by another motorist who was heading northbound on Yonge but had slowed to turn west on the 7th.

“When vehicle 1 tried to turn left to go Eastbound, they were hit by a different Northbound vehicle,” police spokesperson Isabella Soligo said in an email.

Both drivers directly involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital as a precaution. Their vehicles have what is described as “complete front-end damage.”

No charges were laid.
