A Utopia man has died after a snowmobile collided with a truck on George Johnston Road in Springwater Township Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:11 p.m. on Jan. 14, emergency crews responded to the scene, west of Barrie. The 22-year-old man was pronounced dead by paramedics.
"Poor visibility due to heavy snowfall and wind were factors in the collision," Huronia West OPP stated in a news release.
The driver of the other vehicle was released at the scene with no injuries, police say.
A section of George Johnston Road was closed for several hours while the OPP's collision reconstruction team measured and documented the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
