A 57-year-old man has died in hospital following a daytime shooting in Vaughan Friday afternoon.

Jorge-Ivan Navas of Vaughan died of multiple gunshot wounds after being transported to a trauma centre, police said in a news release.

York Regional Police responded to a residence near Islington Avenue and Kiloran Avenue on Friday, Aug. 9 at 2:12 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Police are searching for a black, 2013 Ford F150, Ontario licence plate BK15799, linked to the crime. The vehicle was reported stolen and has not been located, police said.

Investigators would like to speak with any witnesses who may have observed this vehicle in the area between Aug. 8 and 9.

Investigators believe this is a targeted incident.
