Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano responded to reporter questions today about whether college and university staff and faculty could be facing layoffs due to COVID-19.
In a livestreamed press conference, Romano said that yes, it is possible, highlighting the fact that post-secondary institutions are autonomous and have the right to layoff staff if they see fit.
