The number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario has dropped since yesterday with 116 lab-confirmed cases reported today.
Nearly 50 per cent of today's reported cases (56 cases) are people aged 20 to 39 years old, and just two of the new cases are people over the age of 80.
Peel Public Health reported the most cases today with 35 new cases reported followed by 23 reported by Toronto Public Health.
Public Health Ontario has reported 929 new cases in the last seven days (July 4-10), which is down from the 1,219 new cases reported between June 27 and July 3.
The province has also reported seven deaths related to the coronavirus today, including three people between the ages of 60 and 79, and four people over 80 years old.
Ontario has reported 2,710 deaths (7.4 per cent of all cases) related to the coronavirus, including 1,724 long-term care residents and seven health care workers employed at long-term care homes in the province.
There were 178 new recoveries reported in today's update, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 32,155, which is 88.2 per cent of all Ontario COVID-19 cases.
The province has completed more than 1.6 million coronavirus tests, with 27,484 processed since yesterday's report. Those tests have confirmed a total of 36,454 cases of COVID-19 in Ontario.
There are now 1,589 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, according to today's epidemiological report.
The incidence rate of infection for the province is 245.3 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people in the population.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 609 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region to date.
Thirty-six people have died and the health unit has reported 547 recoveries. The incidence rate for Simcoe-Muskoka region is 102.4 cases per 100,000 people in the population.
There are currently 25 active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County including three people hospitalized, according to the health unit's epidemiological report.
