NEWS RELEASE
INNISFIL IDEALAB & LIBRARY
*************************
The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is excited to announce that curbside pick-up will begin today. Customers will be able to pick up books, audiobooks, DVDs, Blu-Rays and magazines.
While all branches remain closed at this time, this program will allow users to place holds and pick them up at our Cookstown, Lakeshore & Stroud Branches. Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will remain closed to the public until further notice to support efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
"This service is a way for the library to provide materials to the public safely during COVID-19. A slow and steady approach is key to maintaining our community’s health and safety,’ says Susan Baues, Acting CEO. "We are grateful for your patience and are excited to get books back in your hands. We know many residents have used our digital Library services and collections, but we also know our customers have missed their library."
How it Works:
1. Request Your Items
Reserve materials through your online account, or use the online form to have us select them for you. When they're ready you'll receive an email or phone call to book a pick-up time. You can create an account at any time at our website.
2. Book A Pick-Up Time
You will be e-mailed a link to book an appointment for pick-up at your preferred location. You can arrive within 30 minutes of your scheduled time (15 minutes before, or 15 minutes after).
3. No Contact Pick-Up
When you arrive, call 705-431-7410 and choose the location (Lakeshore: 1, Cookstown: 2, Stroud: 3). You will be asked for your library card number.
Curbside Pick-Up is available at the Cookstown and Lakeshore Branches from 1 - 8 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday, and from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The service is available at the Stroud Branch from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
We ask that you maintain physical distancing and stay two metres away from others and staff. There are no overdue fines being applied to late items, and drop boxes are open to return materials at all four Library Branches. All materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in.
The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will approach reopening slowly and intentionally, ensuring that programs, services, and facilities protect the health and safety of our community and staff. Reopening decisions are based on direction and recommendations from the Provincial government and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
We encourage continued use of our online services and Digital Library and check out our virtual programming and live events. For more information and for Library updates straight to your inbox, sign up for our eNewsletter today.
