There are 18 new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today.
There are 73 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Nov. 18.
Ardagh Bluffs Public School in Barrie is reporting four new cases today, and three affected classrooms.
Severn Shores Public School is reporting one new case, and one affected classroom.
As of Nov. 15, the Simcoe County District School Board has changed how it is reporting cases on its advisory board.
There are now four schools that no longer have cases listed on the board. Instead, the school board notes that the health unit has taken over reporting cases at Terry Fox Elementary School, W.C. Little Elementary School, Emma King Public School and Maple Grove Public School, all in Barrie. As of Thursday, seven cases are being reported by the health unit at Maple Grove Public School (two more than were listed by the school board on Wednesday). Five cases are being reported at Emma King, which is four more than were reported by the school board on Wednesday.
The health unit does not report on affected classrooms.
St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford is reporting one new case today, adding to four cases and two affected classrooms previously reported at the school.
Six new cases are being reported today at École secondaire Le Caron in Penetanguishene, which is part of the Conseil scolaire Viamonde school board. This adds to one case previously reported at that school.
The Simcoe County District School Board has 43 confirmed active cases at 14 schools according to their advisory board. They are:
- Ardagh Bluffs Public School in Barrie, four cases, and three affected classrooms
- Emma King Public School in Barrie has five cases, with an unknown number of classrooms affected
- Forest Hill Public School has two cases, six affected classroom
- Guthrie Public Schools in Oro-Medonte has one case, one affected classroom
- Holly Meadows Elementary School has one case, and one affected classroom
- Honourable Earl Rowe Public School in Bradford, one case
- Innisfil Central Public School, one case, and one affected classroom
- Maple Grove Public School in Barrie has seven cases, with an unknown number of classrooms affected
- Severn Shores Public School, one case, and one affected classroom
- Terry Fox Elementary School, seven cases, with an unknown number of classrooms affected.
- Trillium Woods Elementary School in Barrie, two cases and one affected classroom
- W.C. Little Elementary School, seven cases, and an unknown number of classrooms affected
- West Bayfield Elementary School in Barrie, two cases and two affected classrooms
- Bear Creek Secondary School in Barrie is reporting two cases
According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 14 active cases spread across six schools:
- Monsignor Clair Catholic School in Barrie has two new cases, and two affected classrooms.
- St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case
- St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie is reporting two cases, and two affected classrooms
- St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford has five cases, and two classrooms affected
- St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie has three cases, with six classrooms affected
- St. Theresa's Catholic High School in Midland, one case, with two affected classrooms
The MonAvenir Catholic School Board has reported five students and one staff member who attend ÉÉC Samuel-de-Champlain in Orillia have tested positive for COVID-19 between Nov. 2 and 10. Two classrooms have been affected. At the same board, one teacher has tested positive at École secondaire catholique Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie.
At the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, École secondaire Le Caron in Penetanguishene has seven confirmed cases as of Nov. 15.
