There are 57 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across Simcoe County as of Monday. Fourteen new COVID-19 cases are being reported in Simcoe County schools today.
There are five new cases being reported in Innisfil-area schools today. Two new cases are at Cookstown Central Public School in Cookstown, with two classrooms closed. One case is being reported at Ernest Cumberland Elementary School in Alliston, with one classroom closed. At Banting Memorial High School in Alliston there is one active case with one classroom closed. St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston also has one new case. No classrooms have been closed as a result of that case.
In Barrie, there are seven new cases being reported since Friday. Two cases have been added to the public school board's list at Steele Street Public School, with two classrooms closed. One new case is being reported at West Bayfield Elementary School. There is one new case at Bear Creek Secondary School, with one classroom closed. St. John Paul II Catholic School is reporting two new cases with no classrooms closed.
There is also one new case at Ferndale Woods Elementary School in Barrie. This adds to three cases that had been previously reported.
In the Orillia area, a new case is being reported at Twin Lakes Secondary School in Orillia, with one classroom closed. One case is also being reported at Severn Shores Public School in Cumberland Beach, with one classroom closed.
There are four Simcoe County schools that have active outbreaks declared by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit: Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil, Our Lady of Grace in Angus, Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford and Andrew Hunter Elementary School in Barrie.
According to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit site, an outbreak is declared at a school when student and/or staff have confirmed COVID-19 cases that can be linked to the educational setting.
As of March 22 at the Simcoe County District School Board, there are currently 25 active COVID-19 cases:
- Two cases at Cookstown Central Public School in Cookstown, with two classrooms closed
- One case at Ernest Cumberland Elementary School in Alliston, with one classroom closed
- One case at Severn Shores Public School in Cumberland Beach, with one classroom closed
- Two cases at Steele Street Public School in Barrie, with two classrooms closed

- Two cases at Portage View Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Andrew Hunter Elementary School in Barrie, outbreak declared Mar. 9
- Two cases at Fieldcrest Elementary School in Bradford, with two classroom closures
- One case at W.C. Little Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
At the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 32 active COVID-19 cases:
- St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie has two cases with no classrooms closed, reported on Mar. 21
- St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 19
- Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil has seven cases, with one classroom closed, reported on Mar. 17, outbreak declared Mar. 16
- St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Innisfil has one case and no classroom closures, reported on Mar. 15
- St. Mary's Catholic School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 13
- St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie has two cases and two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 16
- Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham has two cases, and one classroom closure reported on Mar. 17
- Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Angus has four cases and two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 16, outbreak declared Mar. 14
- St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in Barrie has two cases and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 10
- St. Charles Catholic School in Bradford has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 8
- Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie has two cases with two classroom closures, reported Mar. 14
- Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford has three cases, with two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 12, outbreak declared Mar. 2
- St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School has four cases, with three classroom closures, reported on Mar. 18
The health unit will contact those who are considered to have had high-risk exposure to a known case of COVID-19.
