The City of Barrie has launched a survey to gain feedback on how residents feel about safety and well-being in the city.
The information gathered will guide discussions and planning efforts aimed at enhancing safety and well-being across the city and contribute to a revised community safety and well-being plan.
“I believe that building a safer community starts with listening to our residents,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall. “The community safety and well-being survey is an opportunity for residents to share their insights and priorities, helping us identify key priorities and meaningful actions that reflect the needs of our community.”
In 2021, Barrie’s 2021-2024 community safety and well-being plan was developed by a committee, with input from a public survey, focus group meetings and community partners. Together, 15 partner organizations committed to help implement a shared plan for a safer Barrie.
The plan has four areas of focus that cover the action items:
- A safer Barrie by working together
- Connected communities are safe communities
- Safety is for everyone
- Prepared and protected
