The results of COVID-19 tests taken while school was in session are still trickling in, with three new positive cases being reported by the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board today.
One new case is also being reported at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil, with one classroom closure.
One case is being reported at St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie, with one classroom closure.
One new case is being reported at St. Angela Merici Catholic School in Bradford. This adds to five cases and three classroom closures previously reported at the school.
The Simcoe County District School Board has indicated they will not be updating their advisory board the week of April 12-16 due to the spring break.
In total, there are three Simcoe County schools that have active outbreaks declared by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit: The Good Shepherd Catholic School in Barrie, W.H. Day Public School in Bradford and Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford.
According to the health unit, an outbreak is declared at a school when student and/or staff have confirmed COVID-19 cases that can be linked to the educational setting.
As of April 14 at the Simcoe County District School Board, there are 20 active COVID-19 cases:
- One case at Assikinack Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Connaught Public School in Collingwood
- One case at Emma King Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Hewitt's Creek Public School in Barrie
- One case at Oakley Park Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at West Bayfield Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- Two cases at Bradford District High School in Bradford, with one classroom closed
- One case at Elmvale District High School in Elmvale
- One case at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
- One case at Alcona Glen Elementary School in Innisfil, with one classroom closed
- One case at Nantyr Shores Secondary School in Innisfil, with one classroom closed
- Three cases at Fieldcrest Elementary School in Bradford, with two classrooms closed
- One case at Fred C. Cook Elementary School in Bradford with one classroom closed
- One case at Chris Hadfield Public School in Bradford with one classroom closed
- One case at Johnson Street Public School in Barrie
- One case at Terry Fox Elementary School in Barrie
- One case at Bear Creek Secondary School in Barrie

Notre-Dame-de-la-Huronie Catholic Elementary School in Collingwood has one case and one classroom closure, reported on March 28.
La Source Elementary School in south-end Barrie is reporting one positive case in a student.
The health unit will contact those who are considered to have had high-risk exposure to a known case of COVID-19.
